Em’s House Foundation was inspired by the life and untimely death of the youngest daughter of our founder, Beckie Watson. Em struggled with mental health and addiction issues through much of her teen years. Despite these challenges, Em selflessly gave her time and meager resources to those in need. When Em died tragically of an accidental drug overdose at the age of 20, our founder was determined to find a way to honor Em’s giving spirit and to help the community.

The road to recovery can be a bumpy one, but stable housing can smooth the way. We provide high-end housing that exceeds national standards for those in recovery. We are certified by the Colorado Agency for Recovery Residences as a Level II recovery residence. Em's House provides a safe, comfortable, and peaceful housing and recovery environment for people who are working to reclaim their lives.
We provide exceptional sober housing in safe neighborhoods. Our houses are located to provide ready access to medical, psychosocial and educational services. All the homes are located near public transportation and shopping to help broaden the scope of access.
We are more than a safe space; we are a community. We take a proactive approach and focus on individualized recovery plans and group unity through healthy activities, house meetings, and shared responsibilities to help our residents establish bonds with one another.
We support medically approved treatments for addiction and can support dual diagnosis of addiction and depression.
We believe that finances should never stand in the way of recovery. That's why our residents pay a modest $850 per month, which includes all furnishings and utilities. Your generous donations help us bridge the gap, ensuring that everyone has access to the transformative power of our program.

Founded in 2021, Em's House Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity that provides recovery housing and individualized recovery programs to help improve the lives of people in recovery who are committed to staying sober and reclaiming their lives. Our work is based on a commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and providing a safe, affordable and compassionate environment for our residents.
We are certified by the Colorado Agency for Recovery Residences as a Level II recovery home.
Since opening in 2021 we have provided over 5,000 recovery residence nights to over 44 people. During that period about 60% have moved onto permanent housing on a path to self-sufficiency and continued sobriety.
This is our first time participating in CO Gives Day and we are very excited about the opportunity to share more about our mission and what we do.
