The Estes Park Museum Friends & Foundation, Inc. supports the mission of the Estes Park Museum through fundraising and advocacy. The mission of the Estes Park Museum is to preserve, share and respect the unique history of Estes Park. Among the many services the Museum offers; the Friends & Foundation supports digitizing local newspapers starting from the early 1900s; update exhibits at the Historic Fall River Hydroplant; preserve and protect over 8,000 loose photographs placed in special envelopes; and supports oral history interviews and recordings that are viewable through the Museum website. This is only a few of the offerings that we support. Contact us if you would like to learn more about what we do.
The Friends and Foundation supports the Museum with the work of volunteers who serve on the Board of Directors, committees, and subcommittees.

When the National Park Service planned to demolish Sprague's Ranch at Moraine Park in Rocky Mountain National Park, an interested group of local residents saved the historic lodge's artifacts and began to collect objects from other individuals, eventually establishing and incorporating the Estes Park Area Historical Museum in 1962.
The Estes Park Museum Friends & Foundation, Inc. was formally established in 1979 and has varied in its title and organizational structure over the years, always with the purpose to support the Estes Park Museum.
This organization operated the museum until 1992 when the museum became a division of the Town of Estes Park.
