Funds donated to ECA are used for students of families with demonstrated need. ECA endeavors to make a high-quality, private Christian education available to all the students and families who desire to partner with them.
ECA has enjoyed 50 years as a Christian school serving families in Colorado Springs. ECA has been commended for its high level of Biblical integration in the classroom by ACSI and ACCS accreditation teams. Consistently over the past few years, ECA has had over 95% of its graduates accepted into college. An average of over 50% of students earn dual enrollment college credit through a partnership with Colorado Christian University. Roughly 50% of ECA graduates have declared to pursue STEM majors. ECA's standardized test scores have consistently averaged over the 80th percentile nationally. ECA's board and staff are regularly in prayer that students and families alike would be strengthened in Christ.
Evangel Christian Academy exists to partner with parents and their church to educate, equip, and empower its students to pursue their purpose in Christ.
ECA was started in 1971 as a ministry of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. It grew to service up to 6th grade in a short time. By 1991, ECA had expanded to become a full K-12 school and had its first graduating class. ECA has added a Pre-K for 4 year olds. In 2001 it became accredited with ACSI. ECA joined the ACCS in 2009 and became accredited with them in 2018 and again in 2021. The Collegium Study Center (for homeschool families) became a part of ECA in 2014. ECA teachs and adheres to Christian/Biblical truth as integrated into its classroom setting and operations. It endeavors to make its classes available to students/families, even those in financial need.
