$2,500 Goal

We want more kids on bikes here and everywhere.

For Evergreen Bike Club to receive your gift means the opportunity to directly impact the lives of children in our community. Your support ensures that more kids have access to the transformative power of outdoor recreation through mountain biking. By investing in Evergreen Bike Club, you're investing in the health, well-being, and future leadership of our youth.

A gift of any size will help Evergreen Bike Club broaden the scope, enhance capacity, and amplify the impact of our program – ensuring that more children, families, and the community have abundant, equitable access to outdoor recreation through mountain biking.

Your gift will create programming for our kids and families that is affordable, educational, fun, meaningful, social, welcoming, and safe. By keeping our registration costs low and avoiding loading them with operating costs, we can continue to remove barriers to participation. With this financial support, the club can create a fund that allows us to cover registration fees for any family who cannot pay, no questions asked, and it will allow us to build a bike library so that families who cannot provide a mountain bike for their child can borrow one.  We'd also like to do more camping, ride in parades, have BBQs, and host a winter bike film night.

In 2024, Evergreen Bike Club packed the calendar with events!

  • Led 40+ Bike Rides
  • Inaugural Evergreen Community Bike and Gear Swap
  • Summer Bike Challenge
  • Club BBQ at Alderfer 3 Sisters Park
  • Held 2 Volunteer Trainings
  • Evergreen Rodeo Parade
  • Trestle Bike Park Days
  • Staunton State Park Camping Weekend
  • Beti Bike Bash
  • Bike or Treat
  • Bike Movie Night
  • End-of-Season Volunteer and Club Celebration
  • Partnered with Outbound Mountain Gear, Evergreen HS Mountain Bike Team, Evergreen Bicycle Outfitters, Buffalo Mountain Apparel, and more!
  • We can do MORE in 2025!

Your gift will support our volunteer leadership, including skills and first aid training, first aid supplies, communications tools, recognition, and gratitude. Volunteers are the heart of our infrastructure, with recruitment and retention buoyed by a safe and supportive culture. An increase in volunteer leadership will result in more rides offered, with a leader-to-kid ratio of 2:6. Our vision for growth is to not be limited by leadership or financial capacity.

Your gift will put tires on the ground. You can support our most basic operating needs, including permitting, insurance, and website. It's not the fun part, but it sure is important. This gives us access to trails, peace of mind in a sport and natural environment that carries inherent risk, and a tool by which we can interact with our participants and our community.

We hope to not only find success in our community by leveraging local resources but also create a replicable model for other communities.

Together, we can create a lasting legacy of outdoor recreation, inclusivity, and stewardship for generations to come.

Mission

Our mission is to cultivate a fun community for kids to ride mountain bikes.

Background Statement

The group is currently offering weekly rides for students in Pre-k through 5th grades. In our inaugural year (2023), we had 317 participants join 35 rides led by 40 dedicated volunteer ride leaders. Ride leaders receive background checks and training including SafeSport, skills development, and first aid training. In our second year, we aim to be a community group that is supported by local businesses, serves a wider geographic area, and is more structured and professional in creating safe and plentiful opportunities for gathering on bikes.

To create resilient, mindful healthy children and future community leaders, we must support our youth in new and creative ways and develop opportunities for them to flourish. To sustain outdoor recreation as a major economic driver, growth in participation, local outdoor-related businesses must thrive, a commitment to destination stewardship and access (both safe and affordable) to the outdoors must be championed. By getting kids on bikes, the Evergreen Bike Club is putting the wheels in motion to achieve these goals.

Your gift will solidify the foundation of this organization and catalyze growth needed to achieve even more.
