Faultless was created in 2021 because my daughter became a survivor of sexual assault. I not only realized that I had no idea what I should and shouldn't have done to collect evidence for the rape kit, but I realized our community at large was struggling with supporting her and they seemed to be uneducated about rape myths and how to treat and support a survivor. I starting asking our schools and community members why are we not talking about sexual assault and raising more awareness and discussion around dating violence, consent, how to support, what a healthy relationship looks and sounds like and where to find resources and support for survivors in our communities, schools and social media and I hit a dead end. No one could tell me of an organization here in Montrose, CO that focuses on all of this. With all that said, I saw an opportunity to help other survivors, educate parents, students and community members to help us prevent these situations from happening and ensure that survivors know what to do, where to find support and resources. I could go on and on about what wasn't happening, but instead I want to tell you what Faultless has been doing since 2021-

Medusa scavenger hunts throughout the western slope. This entails us collaborating with small businesses to large businesses like the Montrose Rec Center, Golds gym, eateries and bars to have a Medusa mannequin reside inside with a poster around her neck that asks you to scan QR code and answer question on rape myths or stats to win a local small business prize. We have had over 100 participants play this game. The scavenger hunt entails us asking True/False questions on rape myths, stats and survivor resources.

SAAM ( Sexual Assault Awareness Month) community outreach entails us getting banners made and put up all over town and around the high school, as well as medusa educational yard signs around high schools. Our most recent banner we had up by the high school is the one you saw at the top of our campaign.

Community Outreach- We go to festivals and events to talk about sexual assault stats and rape myths through games that ask true and false questions, which entail creates a safe space for survivors to speak to us, and spread resources. Please see pics below of our FUN, CURIOUS ways of spreading awareness and resources within our community.
Medusa resource sticker campaigns for local businesses bathrooms and break rooms, water bottles, Delta Tech college and CMU Montrose hub. The sticker has our 24hr Montrose Memorial Hospital Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners number on it. We have given out over 100 stickers.
Survivor Art Supplies & Sweats for Survivors- Since the conception of Faultless in 2021, we have given over 300 healing bundles of art supplies to children, youth and teens that come through the Dolphin House Advocacy Center and Sweats for Survivors for all survivors that come through the Montrose Memorial Hospital sexual assault response team upon discharge. We believe the process of healing from trauma can come in all different modalities. Having a child, youth or teen leave the advocacy center after giving their testimony with a bag that says FAULTLESS and has age appropriate art supplies in it could possibly start the healing from the tragic event. Having a survivor be able to grab comfy sweats because their clothes may have been kept for evidence after a rape kit is another way we support our survivors.
Faultless Awareness Vehicle- A 2005 VW convertible bug vehicle was donated by a survivor and is becoming our awareness vehicle that will have QR codes to the tea consent and the Cycling through consent videos and our local 24 hr sexual hotline
