Break the Cycle. Build Successful Second Chances.

At Focus Reentry, we believe everyone deserves a second chance, and the opportunity to rebuild their lives. Yet far too often, people leaving incarceration face overwhelming barriers: homelessness, unemployment, addiction, and mental health challenges. Without support, many fall back into the same destructive cycles that held them down. We help change that story. By connecting our participants to safe, sustainable housing and a network of wraparound services, we give them more than a place to live — we give them a foundation for stability. From case management and peer support, to recovery support and pathways to income, our holistic approach ensures people not only find housing, but remain housed, supported, and on the path toward long-term self-sufficiency.

Our Impact Last Year:

  • 57 people obtained safe and stable housing
  • 85% remained housed long-term
  • Recidivism rate of just 28%, far below state and national averages

These aren’t just numbers — they represent lives restored and communities made stronger.

Your Gift Makes the Difference

On Colorado Gives Day, you can help us continue this crucial work:

  • $50 provides essential supplies for someone moving into stable housing
  • $100 funds transportation to medical appointments, treatment, or mental health care
  • $250 supports case management and wraparound services for extra support
  • $500+ helps us secure safe housing for participants experiencing homelessness

When you give, you’re not just providing resources — you’re giving hope, dignity, and the tools to thrive.

Together, we can break the cycle of homelessness and recidivism and build brighter futures.

Mission

Our mission is to promote successful second chances, reduce recidivism, and enhance the well-being and safety of our community.

Background Statement

The Focus Reentry Mentoring Program of Boulder County was founded at the request of Boulder County Sheriff's Department to address a critical gap in social services-the lack of an organized reentry program for those emerging from the Boulder County Jail. The goal was to address the "revolving door" of the criminal justice system, which often results from a lack of housing, employment, and support system for men and women upon release.

Our programs have grown to include the One Stop Shop that targets the cycle of homelessness and incarceration and Build Home that supports those who have transitioned into a home of their own.
