The Fort Collins Community Action Network (FCCAN) is a solid grassroots organization focused on advancing social, economic, and environmental justice in Fort Collins, CO.
"A few years ago, my partner and I decided that we wanted our little family to align with our values as much as possible. That is why we are both sustaining members of FCCAN. We believe that a monthly donation to something we believe in for our greater community not only makes us feel less isolated in the doldrums of capitalism but turns our financial privilege into something more meaningful. Supporting BIPOC led organizations like FCCAN on a sustaining basis feels like a beautifully simple and truly important way to share our resources."
FCCAN's mission is to create community based on furthering economic, social, and environmental justice; sustainability; human rights; and peace for all by building coalitions, developing strategies and actions, and supporting existing progressive organizations.
FCCAN was incorporated in Colorado in December 2000 as "the Center for Justice, Peace, and Environment." The following year in December 2001, we were established as a not-for-profit tax exempt organization. We changed our name to the Fort Collins Community Action Network (FCCAN) in December 2011. FCCAN has been a driving force in Northern Colorado's progressive movement for over 20 years, building coalitions with immigrant groups led by Black, Indigenous, People of Color; working-class, disabled folks, fighting for improved public transportation and disability justice campaigns; young organizers fighting for safer schools and police and prison abolition; and community members experiencing homelessness fighting for the decriminalization of poverty and affordable housing.
