Friends of Lackota Animal Sanctuary

We are an animal sanctuary, located in northern Colorado that focuses mainly on rescuing horses and donkeys. However, we rescue, mostly farm animals of all shapes and sizes. Many of our rescues are elderly, or have injuries, preventing them from being a working asset during their previous ownership. Many of our residents come from the slaughter pipeline or livestock auctions. These are animals that are destined to be shipped out of the country and treated in humanely, abused, and neglected until their untimely death. With the help of donations, our community and amazing volunteers, we are able to offer them a sanctuary without fear or neglect. Some of our residents are able to be rehabilitated and adopted out to their forever homes, while a majority of them will live their lives here at the sanctuary.
