$200,000 Goal

The Friends of the Genoa Tower is a nonprofit created to support the renovation and activation of the century-old World's Wonder View Tower in Genoa, Colorado. After raising close to $3 million to fund a major restoration of this historic landmark, our goal is to close a $200,000 gap in our construction budget through Colorado Gives Day.

Mission

When it was created almost a century ago, the World's Wonder View Tower was not just a community gathering place, but a waystation for people traveling the country by car. The mission of the Friends of the Genoa Tower is to restore the Tower complex to those original roles -- offering services updated for today's travelers, as well as meeting spaces and cultural programming for the community. While the structure itself is a magnificent example of both folk-art architecture and early tourism's celebration of roadside attractions, the reactivated Tower will not be preserved as an artifact of the past, but an activated space for the future.

Background Statement

In 2016, five friends banded together as See Six States to buy the World's Wonder View Tower and save this historic structure. Six years later, they gave the Tower to the Friends of the Genoa Tower, a nonprofit established to ensure that the Tower survives for another century.
