Friends of the Children - Colorado Springs' mission is to impact generational change by empowering youth who are facing the greatest obstacles through relationships with professional mentors — 12+ years, no matter what.

Background Statement

Friends of the Children was founded 30 years ago in Portland, Oregon, and has since grown to more than 40 chapters nationwide. Friends of the Children - Colorado Springs launched in 2021 after community stakeholders recognized Friends of the Children's proven model as a powerful, mitigating solution to some of the most pressing challenges facing Colorado Springs children and families.
