Mission
To support the musical art form known as The Blues by bringing National Blues recording artists to Grand County Co on a regular basis and by providing Blues education programs to the Schools of Grand County. We also bring music and musical instruments to kids and young adults with cancer and other serious life challenges and music therapy programs anywhere through our Blue Star Connection program.
Background Statement
Blue Star Connection was started when one of our board members was asked for a guitar by a teenage boy that was battling cancer. The boy wanted a blue guitar. A week later the same board member was asked if our blues society could use a donated guitar, it was blue. The guitar was accepted by us and donated to the sick boy. Since then, we have raised money for and collected instruments and have delivered them to over 1200 kids and adults battling life threatening illnesses and to 100 hospitals and dozens of music therapy programs around the country.
