About GJ Blackout
GJ Blackout is a youth basketball club based on the Western Slope in Grand Junction, Colorado. The teams are composed of talented middle school and high school aged girls and boys and play in tournaments throughout Western Colorado and in other regions such as Denver, Colorado Springs, Utah and potentially other sites throughout the US. GJ Blackout is a volunteer operated, non-profit organization. The philosophy of GJ Blackout is to develop individual player skills in basketball, to encourage a lifetime love of the game of basketball and to teach the important skills of being a part of a team. Winning games and tournaments are a bonus and we have our fair share of success! It is also important for our club to keep it affordable to be a member of GJ Blackout and a lot of the uniform and tournament fees are paid by sponsors. Please contact us if you have any questions about our club.
Capital Campaign Summary
GJ Blackout is committed to provide excellence in opportunities for growth and leadership training for the youth in Western Colorado. A part of this commitment includes construction of the Blackout Sports Fieldhouse. This will provide a much needed solution to space and resources needed by Mesa County sports organizations. Once our sports fieldhouse is complete GJ Blackout will be better equipped to support youth who are involved in our program, which strives to promote personal growth, athletic achievement, and community & team building. Our facility will also be available for public use and for all other youth sports programs and sports leagues in Mesa County. The benefits of the Blackout Sports Fieldhouse are far reaching in youth sports, adult sports and economic growth opportunities for businesses in Mesa County. Our $6 million capital campaign is designated for the construction of our Blackout Sports Fieldhouse. To date, we have raised $3.6 million of our goal through the generous support of local businesses and grants.
