The Glenwood Springs Summer of Music was launched as a way to bring together community and enhance musical enjoyment through a free summer concert series in Two Rivers Park. It has expanded to include many forms of music, but the value of bringing people together, enjoying picnics, summer mountain evenings and great music continues to be a strong, positive tradition for Glenwood Springs and surrounding communities. We continue to provide a family-friendly series for Glenwood Springs residents and visitors, and promote development of area musical talent through selection of local opening acts, including student musicians.
The Glenwood Springs Summer of Music’s mission is to provide a standing six-concert summer event free of charge. We pride ourselves on being a family friendly series for Glenwood Springs residents and visitors, and proudly promote the development of area musical talent through selection of local opening acts, including student musicians. We place great value on bringing people together, enjoying picnics, summer mountain evenings and great music. In an effort to ensure the greatest opportunity for community members to participate, the Glenwood Springs Summer of Music encourages people and businesses to donate, sponsor or volunteer for the benefit of the series.
The series began in 1985 and was hosted by Bob and Mary Noone. They eventually formed a non profit organization and ran it for approximately 26 years. It was briefly run by the Glenwood Center of the Arts and was continued by the current organization. Concerts have taken place every year with only the exception of 2020 ( the COVID year). It is truly a Glenwood Springs tradition.
