Mission

Greccio Housing's mission is to provide stable, safe, affordable housing; to offer resources for residents to achieve stability; and to promote solutions to the affordable housing needs of our community.

Background Statement

In 1990, Claudia Deats-Rodgers envisioned improving the quality of life for people in need of affordable housing in Colorado Springs. As a former Franciscan Nun who had worked with the Diocese to create affordable senior housing, she knew what it would take to meet that need. She gathered a group of dedicated volunteers and started Greccio Housing. Greccio now provides housing for 1,000 individuals each year to households earning a modest income throughout Colorado Springs. While personal engagement and responsiveness to individual's needs were always a part of Greccio, the Resident Resource Center's supportive services were formalized in 2002. Our supportive services and programming provide access to the necessary services and financial assistance to ensure the household remains stable.
