Our Background Story

For over four decades, Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver has been creating opportunities for affordable homeownership and bringing hope to thousands of families. Since our founding in 1979, as the fifth Habitat affiliate in the United States, we've been dedicated to building and preserving homes for more than 2,000 families in the Denver area.  We are now one of the largest affiliates in the country, and continuing to expand across the metro area, thanks to the support of our many individual, corporate and faith partners.  

It all started with the renovation of a single home.  Today, we continue to grow, thanks to the power of volunteers, community partners, and supporters like you. Together, we’re building a better future for Denver—one home at a time.
