$15,500 Goal
We use sustainable agriculture to transform the lives of young people and increase access to healthy food in Garfield County.
We are growing food, empowering youth, and fueling community on 3 acres in Silt, Colorado. Using sustainable agricultural practices, we steward public land, improve access to healthy local food and engage teens in meaningful work.
Support Highwater Farm’s Food Access Fund by donating to our Colorado Gives Day campaign. Our goal is to raise $15,500 to sponsor 20 families with CSA memberships in 2025. A membership gives families weekly access to the farm and u-pick crops, eggs, and community events. All services on the farm are offered in English and Spanish.
Highwater Farm is the only small-scale vegetable farm in western Garfield County that participates in SNAP and Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB) programs. This means our Farm Members can purchase a full CSA share with SNAP benefits at a 50% discount. In 2024, Garfield County WIC sponsored 10 fully funded CSA memberships for local families.
Because the sources of funding that support our Food Access programs are constantly in flux, the farm has focused on fundraising efforts that could fill the gap when federal or state funding is insufficient.
Your contribution this year will make Highwater’s Food Access programs more sustainable for the farm and for participating families by directly supporting CSA memberships. Our hope is that by participating in the CSA, farm members will be invested in the farm and our mission, and will continue to receive access to the farm for years to come.
