Why Does My Library District Need a Foundation?
We help build a community of library lovers by raising money to enhance your library's programs and services.
The HPLD Friends & Foundation aims to build a community of library lovers within Northern Colorado by gathering funding for High Plains Library District programs and services. With more than 100,000 card holders in the District we support, we provide equitable access to resources for the adults, young adults, and children within our community.
Through donations from library lovers like you, the HPLD Friends & Foundation:
- addresses emerging needs in our community
- bolsters literacy rates among our youth
- supports literary programming to engage authors in our community.
We solicit funding on behalf of the District in the form of grants, private donations, corporate support, special events, and investment earnings. Our purpose is to diversify and create sustainable funding streams for the High Plains Library District in order to relieve dependency on tax revenue.
We support librarians in producing high-quality library programs and services so that they may be available for present and future generations of library lovers. In 2022, the Foundation developed and implemented the coordination of volunteers within the HPLD libraries.
