Huts for Vets offers no-cost wilderness therapy retreats to U.S. veterans and active-duty service members. Our nature-based approach aims to provide unconventional psychological healing beyond traditional therapies.
Our mission is to help veterans adjust to and enjoy civilian life by providing tools to enhance their mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional health. We offer immersive wilderness programs that feature guided hikes, group discussions, and community-building activities. Huts for Vets believes that addressing the whole person, including body, mind, and spirit, is essential to equip veterans with the tools they need to cope with trauma and depression.
At Huts for Vets, we believe that nature and camaraderie can have a powerful impact on our veterans' mental, physical, and emotional health. Our 5-day program in the Hunter-Frying Pan Wilderness near Aspen includes:
- Guided nature excursions, philosophical discussions, and camaraderie with fellow veterans led by an expert team of guides, psychologists, and moderators.
- Opportunities to achieve newfound healthy psychology, vitalized bodies, and receptive spirits, maximizing both aesthetic and intellectual benefits.
By the end of the program, our veterans emerge with a deep sense of teamwork, strengthened bonds with their fellow veterans, and a renewed outlook on life. At Huts for Vets, we are committed to helping our nation's heroes adjust to civilian life and experience the benefits of nature, camaraderie, and positive health outcomes.
