The iSSACHAR Center, founded in 1999 through Mile High Ministries, has grown to become a robust leadership community for urban Christian leaders in Denver and beyond.
In 1950, 68% of the world will live in cities. As we move toward this culturally diverse and population dense urban future, we are working to develop 5 marks that we believe to be essential in the next generation of leaders: Rooted in Christ, Professional in Calling, Relentless in Justice and Reconciliation, Healthy in Relationships, and Collective in Approach. We believe leaders who are growing in these 5 marks will create healthy ecosystems where people flourish in their organizations, classrooms, communities, and families.
"Issachar helped me emerge as a leader in the city through a comprehensive program that guided me in discovering my true purpose and aligning it with God’s calling." -Brian Arnold, Entrepreneur
"There is so much gratitude that I have for the Issachar community! This community has offered a place to reflect, reset, renew, realign and recollect myself when I needed it the most." -Tia Davis, Non-Profit Leader
"The Issachar Center has created the environment where we can grow as young leaders, providing a supportive community, practical resources, and mentorship that has helped us develop a strong foundation of faith and purpose." -Trey Scranton, Next Gen Leader
The iSSACHAR Center catalyzes followers of Jesus for a lifetime of leadership in urban communities. We use cohorts, courses, and events to equip and convene leaders, forming a life giving network for personal/professional growth and public impact.
In our last fiscal year, we formally engaged 152 leaders in our program offerings. This broad network of urban Christian leaders worked in diverse sectors across Denver and beyond. Our work results in healthier leaders and families, stronger organizations, and a more just society.
Our work launches new collaborative initiatives, facilitates job placement, provides strategic counsel, offers mental and emotional support, and trains best practices to develop empathic, audacious leaders and make a public impact.
Countless leaders have looked to the iSSACHAR Center for the community they have needed in order to lead sacrificially in our city.
