Erica founded Joy & Justice in 2023 as a response to her personal experience with domestic violence, driven by a commitment to bring hope to families facing these challenges and to advocate for reform in the justice system.
Following the heartbreaking loss of her daughters in an act of domestic violence in 2022, Erica’s mission is to focus her drive and experience to prevent similar tragedies from affecting other families by providing education to key decision makers in family court systems.
As a single mother and survivor, Erica relied on a strong network of family and friends to raise her daughters, Cameron and Audrey, in a supportive, loving community. Thanks to this support system, she was able to build a life filled with joyful experiences and lasting memories with her girls—moments she continues to cherish.
Inspired by this, Joy & Justice is committed to bringing joy-filled experiences to survivors of domestic violence and their children. Activities that foster joy provide hope and enjoyment amidst hardship, strengthen the bond between mothers and their children, and create meaningful opportunities for families that might otherwise be out of reach.
