La Plata Youth Services supports and advocates for youth facing challenges in school, home, or court.
Background Statement
La Plata Youth Services (LPYS) was founded in 1994 to provide a continuum of services to youth facing challenges in school, in court, and at home in La Plata County. We work with individual students and their families to help them increase their resiliency, confidence, and relationship-building within the community.
LPYS offers the following programs: 1) Youth Diversion, 2) Communities-in-Schools Partnership, and 3) Radical Possibilities Mentoring. Additionally, LPYS serves as the support agency for the La Plata County Collaborative Management Program and is a key partner and services provider in the Hub Therapeutic Program. During summer months, LPYS works with other local youth-serving agencies like Lifeways to support positive youth engagement programming for students.
