To provide educational and informational services relating to the economic, social, recreational and aesthetic values of resident of the Left Hand Valley, Boulder County, Colorado, including music, culture and the arts;
To foster an appreciation of the historic, cultural, scenic, open space, scientific, educational, and other resources of the Left Hand Valley, including the Native American cultural and historic aspects of the area;
To educate residents of the Left Hand Valley with respect to events and activities which affect hem;
To strengthen the quality of local journalism in the Left Hand Valley, organizing collaborative reporting projects to increase the scope and quantity of civic news, and offering education for better journalism, community engagement, and innovation, and to prevent a "news desert" from occurring in the Left Hand Valley;
To provide research services required to fulfill the foregoing objectives.
The Left Hand Valley Courier was established on April 1, 1997, as a monthly newspaper serving the Niwot and Gunbarrel communities in Boulder County, Colorado. In 2014, the Courier became a weekly publication and has continued to publish an issue, online and/or in print, every week since then.
