Every Dollar Makes a Difference

Your generous donations help us:

  • Stock our shelves with healthy and fresh food
  • Provide hot meals 2 day a week
  • Maintain our facilities and general operations
  • Expand our programs to reach more people in need

Mission

Loaves & Fishes exists to bring Glory to God by providing food and emergency assistance to those in need. All services are to be offered without discrimination as an expression of Christian love and generosity.

Background Statement

Loaves and Fishes started in 1999 by individuals from Clear Creek County and the neighboring area identifying a need for emergency food assistance for struggling families and individuals in the community.

Loaves & Fishes is the primary food pantry for Clear Creek County. As a faith-based, non-denominational ministry we remain committed to our mission to bring Glory to God by providing food and emergency assistance to those in need.

In the last few months Loaves and Fishes have seen an increase in shoppers that has not been seen since 2020 when the pandemic hit.

Clients shop in an environment similar to a friendly neighborhood grocery store, for staples and fresh food two days a week. This is referred to as a 'client choice' model of food distribution allowing clients to exercise autonomy, free from volunteer supervision when shopping.

Lunch is served both days we are open. To ensure sufficient food for all our households, clients can shop one day a week but are invited to have lunch both days. The coffee pot is always on, and clients are greeted by long standing volunteers who welcome clients with a professional, yet friendly and non-judgmental disposition. On average we serve 120 households per week, 30 lbs per household, equating to over 180 tons of food annually Each household is eligible for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets.
