When you support Longmont Humane Society, you're not just contributing to a building with walls; you're supporting more than a shelter.
Join us in making a difference that goes beyond the surface, as we shape brighter futures and create heartwarming success stories, one animal at a time.
We are more than a shelter, touching the lives of thousands of homeless animals annually while enriching our community through vital services:
🐾 Low-cost Veterinary Care: Making essential healthcare accessible through our Well Pet Clinic.
🐾 Dog Training Classes: Strengthening the human-animal bond and reducing behavioral issues.
🐾 Emergency Boarding: Offering temporary shelter for pets in crisis situations, ensuring their safety and well-being.
🐾 Pet Pantry: Addressing food insecurity and preventing pet surrenders by providing essential supplies to pet owners facing financial hardship.
🐾 Humane Education: Instilling compassion and respect for animals in the next generation through interactive programs and community outreach.
Longmont Humane Society stands out as a Haven of Transformation.
We are committed to the holistic well-being of every companion animal that comes through our doors - we do not euthanize for space or behavior issues, except in very extreme cases – over 98% of all animals who enter our care find their way into happy, loving homes!
Our unique approach is a Lifeline of Love & Safety - surpassing just food & shelter.
At the heart of our mission lies a dedicated team of passionate animal welfare and training teams, driven by the belief that every companion deserves a second chance and a loving home. We understand that each animal comes with a unique story, personality, and sometimes, challenges. That's why we've invested in a team of experts who specialize in understanding animal behavior, creating tailored rehabilitation plans, and nurturing the emotional and psychological needs of our furry friends.
Our commitment to our animals doesn't end when they find their go home.
We recognize that the transition from shelter life to a new home can be both exciting and challenging, and we're here to provide unwavering support every step of the way through training, education, and affordable medical care in our onsite Well Pet Clinic.
Our dedication to creating well-adjusted and adoptable animals has garnered recognition not only within our community but also beyond.
Longmont Humane Society receives hundreds of requests from animal shelters across the country to transfer their difficult cases into our care, and when we have space, we welcome them. It's not uncommon for other animal shelters to seek out our guidance and training methods, acknowledging our shelter as a beacon of knowledge and innovation.
Caring, serving and educating to improve the lives of companion animals.

We are a Socially Conscious™ shelter, committed to best practices in animal welfare. We serve the City of Longmont, the towns of Firestone, Lyons, Dacono, Niwot, and Mead, as well as greater Boulder County.
