$10,000 Goal

Our History Lotus Foundation was founded in 2023 with the intent of providing confidential advocacy and case management options for survivors of human trafficking in the Colorado Springs and Front Range region. The organization began as a dream of two advocates when they realized that the options for support in the local community are extremely limited. We envisioned an organization that is willing and able to serve every survivor, in any capacity that they may need. We wanted to see an organization that works collaboratively with community partners rather than against them - an organization that never has to say 'no' or turn away a person seeking services, no matter how big or small their needs are. Lotus Foundation is our dream coming to life. We are dedicated, committed, and passionate about this field. We hope that will show in our support of survivors both near and far.

Our Mission Lotus Foundation provides confidential victim advocacy services and case management to survivors of both sex and labor trafficking. The confidential advocates at Lotus Foundation will hear you, believe you, and support you on your path in any way that we can. Our ultimate goal is to see every survivor with whom we work living a safe, healthy, and independent life.

Our Future Lotus Foundation is only just beginning. As we grow, we will be consistently adding to our services and capabilities. Our biggest goal is the addition of both an emergency safehouse for survivors who are actively fleeing, and a longterm residential program where survivors can live safely until they are able to have a home of their own. Lotus Foundation is actively seeking community partners and agencies who are interested in forming a dynamic partnership with us. We are always looking to build and develop relationships to better serve survivors of human trafficking in the Colorado Springs and Front Range region. We firmly believe that no one person or one organization can solve the problem of human trafficking in our community - teamwork and collaboration are key!

Statement of Inclusivity Lotus Foundation exists to serve all survivors of human trafficking regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, age, religion, immigration status/citizenship, or culture. ALL survivors are welcome here. ALL survivors will be treated with equal respect. We are truly honored to serve you.

Confidentiality All advocates at Lotus Foundation have been trained in Confidential Victim Advocacy, and we are covered under Colorado Revised Statute 13-90-107. This means that any information about you or that you share with us is never shared outside of this organization without your written consent. The only exception is in the case of child abuse or neglect, as all Lotus Foundation advocates are mandatory reporters in those situations.

What We Do We provide general emotional support as needed, as well as safety planning. We have some material items a survivor may request, as well. These items can include, but are not limited to, clothing, food, hygiene items, household goods, or personal care items. We can also aid with transportation needs via bus tickets, uber rides, hotel stays, and sometimes flights. We also assist with enrollment into Colorado’s Address Confidentiality Program. We can provide court support, assistance with protection orders, and accompaniment for police reports or other uncomfortable appointments. We have built good relationships with other community partners so that we are easily able to refer survivors to resources that we cannot personally offer in-house, such as trauma-informed therapy, legal aid, or residential options. We are willing and able to continue long term case management with survivors who want that, in whatever capacity that may be for each individual. Additionally, we do outreach events and offer presentations – both generalized and specific to an organization if requested – to community partners and other groups in order to raise awareness and education regarding human trafficking. We feel that education and awareness are the first steps to eventually ending this horrific tragedy, and it is important to us to do our part in prevention as well as after-care.
