Cultivating lives that are full, healthy and happy through the practice of Mindfulness and Positivity.
Equipping teachers with the skills and resources necessary to support themselves and their students, MPP offers educators – and pays them to attend – positive psychology workshops and courses. In 2023, we worked with more than 700 teachers from 13 districts across the Pikes Peak Region.
The youth mental health crisis is destabilizing schools, students, and educators. Teacher turnover in Colorado is at an all time high, and dropout rates are rising at schools across the state for the first time since 2015. In El Paso and Teller counties, five of 17 districts had higher dropout rates than the overall state rate.
Many organizations are responding to this crisis by serving students directly, which is critical. MPP fills a different and equally important need: equipping and supporting educators who serve our youth. Students need mindful, present and healthy teachers now more than ever.
Will you join us today in proactively promoting the mental wellness of youth and the adults who support them?
"This has had such a positive impact on my life and teaching at a particularly tough time in my career. I have been reminded to breathe and focus on what really matters, which is always relationships."
“As a school counselor, my training is all about emotional regulation and tools. The tools I have learned have expanded my knowledge and literally made my life more enjoyable. I often use these new learned techniques when working with students.”

Story
The Mindfulness and Positivity Project began in 2016 with two teachers, a mental health professional, and a shared vision to empower students to find peace and happiness in an increasingly complex world. Initially, we focused solely on students, but soon realized the efficacy of our program relied on healthy, supportive adults practicing with youth. When parents, teachers, coaches, and mentors are given the tools to model these behaviors, everyone is more equipped to lead a life of happiness and flourishing.
Approach
Our curriculum uses evidence-based mindfulness and positive psychology interventions to teach educators skills that buffer the body's reaction to stress, enhance self-regulation, and improve the ability to examine thoughts and emotions. Participants develop simple strategies to enhance enjoyment, increase positive affect, generate self-compassion, regulate emotions, and experience what it means to truly feel at ease. The National Institutes of Health is currently running a study on the impact of our programming.
Where We Work
This Fall, we are offering our signature 8-Week MPP Course to more than 240 teachers in 20 schools across the Pikes Peak Region.
