$50,000 Goal

The Montbello Organizing Committee (MOC) is a grassroots, community-led organization founded in 2013 to address the key issues facing Montbello residents. MOC empowers residents to lead change through community organizing, outreach, and advocacy. By engaging nearly 500 community members, MOC identified critical challenges, including youth violence, health disparities, lack of access to nutritious food, affordable housing shortages, educational inequity, and the impacts of redlining.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, MOC works collaboratively to develop solutions that honor Montbello’s diverse heritage while fostering growth and economic opportunity. Our initiatives span from the FreshLo economic development project, which combines access to healthy food with affordable housing, to leadership development programs that elevate local voices. MOC also leads the Montbello Sustainable Food Access Network, Montbello Solutions for mental health services, and the Montbello Urban Spectrum Edition, a bilingual community newspaper.
