I am very grateful to the Mountain Dreamers organization, which did not hesitate to help me by providing me with a grant that I needed so that the lawyers could start working on our case as my son and I hope to find a better and safer life in Colorado. I am very grateful to this organization for everything they did for my son and by helping us with the financial assistance we needed so desperately, thank you very much Mountain Dreamers." - Edras

Mission

"To inspire, educate and advocate in order for immigrants and their allies to create systems that advance equity and social justice in our Mountain communities."

"Inspirar, educar y defender a los inmigrantes y sus aliados para crear sistemas que promuevan la equidad y la justicia social en nuestras comunidades de Montaña."

Background Statement

Mountain Dreamers was founded in 2018 by Summit County residents, immigrants and allies, who recognized a growing need to support and advocate for our immigrant neighbors, regardless of legal status in the United States. What began as a small volunteer group sharing local immigrant stories has grown into a trusted community organization with offices in Summit and Eagle counties.

Today, Mountain Dreamers continues providing services, such as: Immigration Legal Services and Legal Aid, Oso Outdoors - free ski and snowboard classes, New American Integration program, English Classes, Assistance with CO driver’s licenses, wage theft complaints, filing income taxes, and starting a business. MD advocates for equitable access to the outdoors, transportation, and housing that lead to initiatives which promote more equitable integration, community development and belonging. Every dollar raised helps us continue breaking barriers and building a stronger, more inclusive mountain community for all.
