Empowering Children Through Trusted Connections

Your donation to CASA of the Continental Divide is a vital lifeline for children who have faced unimaginable challenges due to abuse, neglect, and truancy. By supporting Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), you empower passionate volunteers to build meaningful connections with these vulnerable children, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are prioritized in the legal system.

In Colorado's 5th Judicial District—covering Eagle, Summit, Clear Creek, and Lake counties—our mission is to guide advocates who are committed to standing by these children, providing not just a voice, but a compassionate presence in their lives. Your contribution sustains essential programs, including Child Advocacy in Dependency and Neglect, Child Advocacy in Truancy, and our Safe Exchange and Parenting Time (SEPT) Program.

The SEPT Program is particularly crucial for families navigating challenging custody arrangements. It provides a safe and neutral environment for children to exchange between parents, ensuring their emotional well-being during transitions. This program reinforces the importance of stable connections, allowing children to maintain relationships while minimizing conflict.

Imagine a child facing a difficult situation, feeling overwhelmed by challenges. Now picture that child with a caring advocate by their side—someone who listens, understands, and fights for their future. This is the transformative impact of your generosity. Your support allows us to train and equip these advocates, ensuring they have the tools to create meaningful connections that change lives.

Together, we can create lasting change and brighter futures for these children. Join us in this vital mission—your gift can create a powerful bond that uplifts and empowers. Thank you for considering a donation to CASA of the Continental Divide!

Mission

CASA of the Continental Divide guides volunteer advocates who ensure a child’s safety, best interest and well-being are at the forefront of legal proceedings.

Background Statement

In 1977, a Seattle juvenile court judge found many children in abuse and neglect cases lacked courtroom representation. This sparked the idea to elect volunteer advocates who spoke on the children’s’ behalf. This program grew into a national network including our own CASA of the Continental Divide, founded in 1999 as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Originally, CASACD served children in Summit and Eagle counties expanding to Clear Creek and Lake counties in 2000 and 2001. Our truancy advocacy program began in Eagle in 2020, expanded to Clear Creek and Lake counties in 2021, and Summit County in 2023.
