Testimonials
Beck Varcoe, a recipient of Scholarship funds who attended CSU and MSU Denver, said:
"I want you to know the support of National Western for these four years from 2020 to 2024 has been incredibly generous. I will never forget how I was able to minimize my student loans because of this scholarship the National Western Scholarship gave to lucky Denver Public Schools students like me. It made a HUGE difference."
Kealia Buschmann, a current recipient of the Scholarship funds who attends Laramie County Community College says:
"Over the past two years volunteering at the Temple Grandin Equine Center, I have learned new horsemanship skills and tools that could be handy for a future career. Not only have I learned new skills and tools, but I’ve applied them throughout my experiences in the field. This scholarship has allowed me to extend my education in my desired field. After obtaining my degree in Agriculture & Equine from Laramie County Community College, I plan to become a horseback riding instructor or explore other options in the field of Agriculture & Equine studies. As a result of this generous scholarship, I can pursue higher education because I can follow my dream and graduate with my associate degree."
Cassandra Sotelo-Rivera, a current recipient of the Scholarship funds who attends CSU says:
"I will be attending Colorado State University up in Fort Collins this upcoming fall semester to pursue a degree in Fish, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology. I plan on dedicating my career to caring and helping advocate for wild animals and their habitats intertwining this passion of helping animals with the conservation of resources among humans as well. I hope that through obtaining a bachelor's degree, I will be better equipped to inform people about the importance of the resources and animals in our environment. This scholarship has impacted my education immensely! Beyond just helping with the financial pressure that comes with paying for school, this scholarship is going to be crucial to my success as a college student. This is because with the extra financial support from this scholarship I am hoping to use time that I would otherwise be using to work a part time job to help financially support myself toward working on getting internships and focus on dedicating more time towards further being able to explore my passions and be an active member within my field of study."
