We are a 100% volunteer-run organization providing individuals and families in need in Parker, Elizabeth and Franktown with food, limited financial assistance and connections to support services via our unique "ten visits to self-sufficiency" model. Caring volunteers ensure clients are treated with compassion, respect, dignity and confidentiality. We are supported by generous donations from our community and via local food drives conducted throughout the year.

The Parker Task Force is dedicated to providing individuals and families living in Parker, Elizabeth and Franktown with food, limited financial assistance and other essential support services to help them become self-sufficient. These services will be delivered with compassion, dignity and respect by our 100% volunteer staff.
Parker Task Force for Human Services Charitable Trust (PTF) was founded in 1987 by four local women, representing four area churches, and the Parker Fire Safety District. PTF was granted the 501(c) 3 charitable designation in July of 1988. PTF was founded as an all-volunteer agency and remains so to this day.
Originally housed in one woman's barn, The Town of Parker donated the space, maintenance and utilities to PTF to operate for over 20 years. That help, plus our 100% volunteer staff, allowed PTF to save hundreds of thousands of dollars each year in operational costs. On September 1, 2015, PTF moved into our new independent location at 19105 Longs Way, Parker CO 80134. In 2024 we grew to serve the needs of our community with a building expansion project. The floorplan reconfiguration and added space provides increased freezer and refrigerator capacity, expanded storage and sorting workspaces to accommodate community volunteer groups, additional Client Advocate cubicles to serve our clients in comfort and confidentiality and a multipurpose Community Room.
PTF was initially founded to help indigent travelers. As the program grew, local residents who were struggling to make ends meet became the focus of the assistance. Over time, our client base broadened and the focus became homeless prevention. PTF now conducts business as a homeless prevention agency providing food and limited financial assistance to client families facing a financial or personal crisis -- such as eviction, empty cupboards and utility shut-offs -- in Parker, Franktown and Elizabeth.
PTF enjoys a wonderful relationship with many foundations, area merchants, clubs, churches, schools, police and fire districts, hospitals and individuals. Donations, in-kind services and volunteers come from all of these sources. PTF holds community food drives which supply approximately 80% of the non-perishable food in our food bank and help to provide the funds needed to keep our doors open. Each successful food drive requires 100+ volunteers and the generous support of local grocery stores and community members. Additionally, PTF offers weekend food backpacks for schoolchildren in need and holiday programs for our client families at Easter (Easter Baskets for children), Thanksgiving (Meals for Families), and Christmas (Adopt-A-Family Program).
