We are a volunteer-based organization made up of local residents and property owners passionate about returning skiing to Cuchara, Colorado after the old ski area was abandoned over 20 years ago. Once Lift 4 is certified, we will provide a truly affordable and family-friendly ski hill that helps break down financial barriers to participation, gets more people out into the outdoors, and bring all-season economic benefits to one of the poorest counties in Colorado. Benefits are not limited to just skiing and winter sports, we are building Cuchara Mountain Park (a Huerfano County Public Park) into a year-round destination where a wide range of outdoor recreation and educational opportunities are available to everyone.
Please help us to ensure Cuchara Mountain Park is a sustainable, year-round attraction available to all residents of Huerfano County and visitors alike to enjoy and learn about winter sports and outdoor recreation, as well as build an appreciation for nature.
We will also contribute 5% of your gift to us on Colorado Gives Day to the La Veta Public Library - one of the best small-town libraries in the country!
Testimonials
"PSC is a valuable non-profit in Huerfano County. Because we are a small, rural, and economically challenged county many amenities are funded through non-profits and the PSC is focused on an important entity, the Cuchara Mountain Park. The vision of the Panadero Ski Corporation is a noble one, "To Serve as a key, contributing organization to ensure Cuchara Mountain Park is a sustainable, year-round attraction available to all residents of Huerfano County and visitors alike, to enjoy and learn about outdoor recreation and build an appreciation for nature."
Their mission is focused and important: "to bring lift-aided skiing and year-round recreation to Cuchara Mountain Park, ensuring that fun, affordable, and educational opportunities are available for everyone." This organization has already worked hard to restore one old ski lift, so that it is now moving. The community has funded most of the work to date but there is need for electronic donation options and broader support, as there many costs remain for certification and operation." ~Lois Adams, Cuchara Foundation
