Parent Possible

A nonprofit organization

We believe all parents and caregivers want the best for their children and have what it takes to make that happen. At Parent Possible, our programs equip parents and caregivers with the tools and information they need to be their child's most valuable teacher, trainer, and mentor in life.

Mission

Parent Possible envisions a Colorado where every family is a thriving ecosystem of learning, laughing, and well-being. Our mission is to equip parents with the tools and information to be their child's most valuable teacher, trainer, and mentor in life.

Background Statement

Parent Possible was formed in 1991 by a team of volunteers dedicated to the vision that parents are their child's first and most influential teachers, preparing their children for success in school and life. Parent Possible partners with organizations across Colorado to deliver the following:

Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) is an evidence-based home visiting program that helps parents prepare their 2-, 3-, 4- and 5-year-old children for success in school. Using curriculum, story books and other materials, parents strengthen their children’s cognitive, literacy, social/emotional and physical development.

Parents as Teachers (PAT) is an evidence-based early childhood home visiting model that builds strong communities, thriving families, and children who are healthy, safe, and ready to learn. Working with families from pregnancy through kindergarten, PAT promotes children’s optimal early development, learning, and health by supporting and engaging their parents and caregivers.

Vroom translates the science behind the brain's executive functions into easy, actionable tips and activities that encourage back and forth interaction between parents and young children. This approach is particularly effective in that it meets parents and caregivers where they are during their busy daily lives.

The Colorado Home Visiting Coalition is working to ensure that all families in Colorado are supported to thrive. It is a coalition of leadership organizations representing the statewide and local level needs of early childhood home visiting programs. To learn more, visit www.cohomevisiting.org.
