Parker Performing Arts School is a tuition-free K-8 charter school in the Douglas County School District. The school is unlike any other school in DCSD, Colorado, and the Mountain Region providing a unique mix of academic rigor along with daily training in the performing arts. An exciting one-to-one iPad environment, differentiated digital curriculum, and daily performing arts instruction at PPA will inspire student passion and engagement, and help foster valuable 21st Century Skills such as creativity, critical thinking, communication, collaboration.

PPA hosts over 32 student performance each year in our school main stage theater! Our 340 seat theater provides a space for students to perform in productions such as Oliver, Beauty and the Beast, Alice in Wonderland and Young Sherlock to name just a few. In addition to our two main stage productions each year, our elementary students also perform in grade level productions like the Three Piggy Opera and Disney Darlings each year. Our middle students perform on the stage twice a year in their performing arts classes with dance, band, orchestra, theater and choir. Our theater is very busy and the students love performing on stage!

PPA has been serving students dedicated to the performing arts since 2016. As we head into our 10th year we are hoping to upgrade and renovate our theater so students can continue to perform in a high-quality theater for years to come. Your support will play a key role in our success with operating a high-quality charter school dedicated to the performing arts.

Mission

Parker Performing Arts School equips students to become independent creative thinkers, critical problem solvers, and successful collaborators. In our safe learning environment, students engage in rich and innovative instruction in academics and the performing arts in preparation for their roles as citizens of a diverse and increasingly globalized community.

Background Statement

Parker Performing Arts School was created by a group of parents with a vision and desire to open a school with academic excellence that also dedicated and focused on providing a performing arts education for their children and the larger community of Douglas County.

Our founders were comprised of parents, teachers, community and arts leaders with diverse backgrounds who shared the common goal of bringing a performing arts school to Douglas County. The founders fostered the idea that the performing arts should be accessible to all students, regardless of background.
