In Every Field, A Dream Awaits: Support Local Farmers, Preserve Farmland and Strengthen Our Community
Northern Colorado is one of the fastest-growing regions in the country, which puts immense pressure on our farmland. Every year, Larimer County loses approximately 2,500 acres of some of Colorado’s most productive farmland to development. As development accelerates, affordable access to land becomes the greatest hurdle for farmers—especially young farmers and those that identify as Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) —who are eager to adopt sustainable, regenerative farming practices.
Ent Wise Farm is part of the Flores del Sol Natural Area in Fort Collins that leases agricultural plots to multiple small farmers.Pryor Farmis 85 acres leased by PVCF for conservation grazing at Cathy Fromme Natural Area in Fort Collins.
PVCF leads groundbreaking initiatives that provide farmers with long-term leases at below-market rates, ensuring they can produce food for our region. Currently, PVCF manages over 350 acres of farmland across Northern Colorado, having supported 12 local producers to date. These include beef and chicken ranchers, vegetable and flower growers, and cheese makers—each contributing to a resilient local food economy. Our work is sustained by partnerships with local governments, private landowners, developers, and land trusts.
“PVCF has been instrumental in contributing to our farm’s economic sustainability....We leased at least 5 different properties over 10 years before we helped found PVCF and without this organization, we would not be farming today.” Katie Slota and Nic Koontz, Native Hill Farm
"I got into gardening and wanted to grow food at a larger scale and also thinking back to my relatives and ancestry being Native American and growing in the Southwest." Reiden Leslie, Little Fresh Farm
In Every Field, A Dream Awaits: These dreams cannot thrive without access to critical resources. By securing farmland and water, we are not just preserving land—we are cultivating the hopes and ambitions of a new generation of farmers and ranchers. Together, we can ensure these dreams take root and grow.
Your contribution helps save agricultural land, provides opportunities for emerging farmers, and fosters a stronger local food system.

Mission
Poudre Valley Community Farms (PVCF) is a Northern Colorado nonprofit dedicated to helping farmers and ranchers grow local food by connecting them to land and water. We believe this is good for people and good for the land.
Background Statement
Since 2016, PVCF has been at the forefront of the movement to preserve local agricultural land and offer opportunities for small-scale farmers and ranchers to thrive. We are focused on three critical priorities:
(1) Securing access to land, water, and infrastructure for local farmers and ranchers
(2) Supporting conservation agriculture by helping to lower water use, reduce or remove the use of chemical treatments and preserving habitats for birds, insects and other pollinators
(3) Building a connected community of individuals who grow, eat, and care deeply about their food and where it comes from
