Poudre School District (PSD) serves over 50,000 children in Northern Colorado with the mission to "Educate every child, every day." In order to accomplish this mission, PSD and the Poudre School District Foundation work collaboratively to create opportunities for all children to succeed in the classroom and beyond. While school budgets enable teachers to accomplish their day-to-day activities, Foundation grants and support enable them to easily pilot and implement innovative new programs, techniques and resources to reach every student.
Since its inception in 2000, Poudre School District Foundation has provided over $975,000 in grants to teachers for programs supporting innovation in education. Many of these grant-funded programs have grown to become integral components of ongoing classroom experiences.
During the 2017-2018 school year, PSDF provided over $65,000 in grants to teachers, directly impacting over 5000 students in the District. Many of these programs will be incorporated into curriculum going forward, expanding their impact for years to come. Additionally, scholarships were provided to students in conjunction with donor designated funds.
PSDF will continue to look for ways to expand the grant process to enable more teachers to apply for and receive grant funds. This will be accomplished through stronger fundraising efforts to increase awareness and donations to the Foundation, as well as a review of the grant application criteria and processes.

The Poudre School District Foundation works to support teachers by providing grants to teachers and support staff to pilot new programs, techniques and resources designed to reach all students in the district.
The PSD Foundation receives approximately 40 grant applications from teachers each year, totaling more than $175,000 in requests. With about $75,000 available in the Innovative Programs Fund, the Foundation awards about 40% of all applications. Our goal is to grow allowing us to support a greater percentage of applications, and to expand overall funding opportunities to educators.
The Foundation also supports the Excellence in Education program, recognizing outstanding teachers and promising new teachers in a celebration of creativity, dedication and professionalism. These are the teachers who change students' lives; teachers who are leaders in their schools and in the community.

The PSD Foundation (PSDF) is a 501(c) 3 organization and was incorporated on October 5, 2000 in support of Poudre School District. Our aim is remove barriers to education while helping fill critical funding gaps for our floor-funded school district. We do this through a variety of methods and close partnership with PSD leadership. One of our cornerstone programs is our educator grant program, formerly known as SPIE Grants. In 2022 the PSDF Board of Directors reinvented the educator grant program to reflect current needs and renamed the program Impact Grants. PSDF has provided over $1M in grants to pre-K through 12th grade classrooms, schools, and district programs supporting everything from once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for students to learn outside of the classroom, to musical instruments, to supporting math classes building a house with Habitat for Humanity. PSDF support has resulted in innovative, lasting opportunities for children across the district.
PSD is a leading-edge, student-focused school district with high-priority needs. To remain student-focused and advance excellence in our district, we have to meet the strategic needs that will allow our students the opportunity to succeed.
The Poudre School District Foundation helps fill the gap as the only comprehensive, district-wide advancement organization. Through Inspiring community investments, the PSD Foundation is committed to providing lifelong learning opportunities that compliment and celebrates every student, quality teachers, and innovative programming.
The PSD Foundation (PSDF) is a 501(c) 3 organization and was incorporated on October 5, 2000 in support of Poudre School District. Started by then Superintendant, Don Unger, Chris Richmond and other community leaders. PSDF began by offering small grants to teachers to support classroom activities and programs. After a shift to highlight innovative projects in the early 2000s and an increased focus on fundraising, PSDF began offering Impact (formerly known as SPIE) grants to teachers in support of engaging and innovative classroom initiatives. Since then, PSDF has provided over $1M in grants to pre-K through 12th grade classrooms, supporting everything from once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for students to learn outside of the classroom, to supplying Smart Boards to autism classrooms, to supporting math classes building a house with Habitat for Humanity. PSDF support has resulted in innovative, lasting opportunities for children across the district.

Since our founding in 2000, the PSD Foundation has provided over $1M in support for students in the Poudre School District. Through our educator grant program and district initiative support we have provided opportunities for PSD students to go above and beyond typical classroom experiences. From Geometry in Construction, which teaches students the relevance of geometry through construction of a Habitat for Humanity home, to The Colorado Coralition which allows middle and high school students to volunteer with the Coral Restoration Foundation in the Florida Key, to Harris Strings Program providing access to music instruction and instruments at school--Impact Grants have made a difference. Each year, Impact Grants, PSDF support of District initiatives, and the Compassion Fund ensure students have opportunities for academic success, for learning about our changing world, for exploring possibilities, for connecting them with their school and local community and removing barriers to education. It is our goal and priority to help fill critical funding gaps in our floor-funded District.
