Mission

To provide programs that foster community, self-sufficiency and increase quality of life among refugees and immigrants.

Background Statement

Project Worthmore (PWM) is a nonprofit organization that seeks to improve the quality of life of the newcomer community by providing programs that foster community and self-sufficiency. PWM was founded in 2011 by Frank and Carolyn Anello. Inspired by their own work in the refugee community, the co-founders set out to fill in the gaps of services available to newcomers and refugee families in their community.

What started as makeshift English classes in living rooms has now grown into an organization that offers six comprehensive programs to thousands of newcomers. These programs include English classes, a dental clinic, a 5-acre farm, a food share program, community navigators, and community engagement efforts, known as Understanding Neighbors.
