What We Do
Navigating life with an infant or child with a health condition can be overwhelming, and at Rocky Mountain Children's Health Foundation, we get it. We believe no family should have to stress about their essential needs during this difficult time. Every day, we provide the financial, nutritional, and emotional support these families need so they can focus on what really matters: being there for their child.
Support Comes in Many Forms
“The little things were immensely impactful because then I could focus on making sure my daughter was ok.”
- Kendra, Kadence's Mom
Before Kadence was born, her mom, Kendra, knew she would need special care due to a heart condition diagnosed in utero, requiring surgery at just a few months old. The family traveled from Wyoming to Rocky Mountain Children's (RMC) in Denver and received support for lodging near the hospital from Rocky Mountain Children’s Health Foundation (RMCHF). Years later, a new complication meant Kadence needed another surgery. Kendra wanted the best possible care for her daughter, so they returned to RMC, this time traveling from Alaska.
With help from RMCHF, they received gas cards and lodging, easing the financial stress. During Kadence’s pre-op appointment, she was anxious and found support in a way her mom didn't expect—Posey, one of our facility dogs at the hospital. Posey was there to offer comfort and companionship, helping Kadence relax and recover. From cuddles to walking alongside Posey, Kadence found strength in small moments of joy.
