Ending recidivism in Colorado, one resource at a time.

Remerg's goal is to reduce recidivism by closing the resource gap that contributes to the cycle of reincarceration. Our hope is that by helping people who have had contact with the criminal justice system find homes, jobs, and other community services, we can give them the tools they need to take control of their life, make positive changes, and avoid reoffending.

There are already enough hurdles when reintegrating back into society, and figuring out how to get resources shouldn't be one of them. Remerg.com, our reentry website, is constantly updated with new and reliable information. Our website Remerg.com, also has instructional videos, navigation and mobility aids, and the identification of gatekeepers when necessary.

In a nutshell, we help justice involved individuals get in touch with relevant services and data as soon as possible after their release. Remerg.com promotes responsibility, encourages achievement, and minimizes Colorado's recidivism rate in the process.

Mission

Remerg is a Denver-based 501(c)3 founded in 2015 to break down the barriers to re-entry and disrupt the revolving door of recidivism, one resource at a time. We believe that by connecting justice-involved and formerly incarcerated populations to housing, employment, and other community resources, we can empower those individuals to take ownership over their future, turn their lives around, and never return to incarceration. Since our inception, we have successfully helped thousands of formerly incarcerated and justice-involved populations– regardless of race, age, gender, sexual orientation or type of offense– connect with critical re-entry resources.

Background Statement

Whether due to literacy constraints, stigma surrounding asking for help, or most prevalent, lack of awareness of available programs and the complexities of Colorado’s resource landscape, justice-involved populations face significant barriers to accessing services and other critical redemptive opportunities. Imagine being released from prison having spent 10 or more years incarcerated– no education, limited life experience and zero social support– all while being expected to know where to go or what to do. In reality, not only do most individuals not know where they need to go, rarely are they even aware that services and programs exist.

A testament to our impact and the critical need for our resource connection services, over the last 8 years Remerg has evolved into Colorado's leading re-entry service, annually serving over 85,000 users through our website and call-line and hundreds of justice-involved individuals through our direct services and programming, including our mentorship program, supportive housing pilot, and our Re-entry Resource Guide initiative.
