Your 2024 CO Gives Day contribution supports RFOV's mission to promote community-powered stewardship of our shared outdoors. This mission brings together over 1,400 volunteers, 11 project staff and more than 20 land managers to care for public lands from Aspen to Parachute.
About RFOV
RFOV focuses on Sustainable Recreation, Healthy Landscapes and Fire Adaptation as our three core stewardship program areas - engaging volunteers of all ages and walks of life to care for our shared outdoors in partnership with regional municipalities, land managers and other nonprofits. The organization also provides robust youth programming through our Young Stewards service learning experiences, Spruce up Your Schools projects and the year-long Youth in Nature empowerment program for high school students.
Our Mission: Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers (RFOV) promotes stewardship of our public lands by engaging our community in education, restoration, and conservation projects.
Our Vision: We strive to create a diverse and engaged community of outdoor stewards working collectively for the benefit of our public lands.
Our Impact: RFOV strives to make a positive, tangible and lasting impact on our landscape with every project, to inspire a sense of belonging through stewardship and to leave our participants feeling empowered to contribute to their communities in a meaningful way.

"Working with RFOV gives me a chance to give back to the places that bring me so much joy. Not only is it an organized and focused group that guides volunteers to the best way to have an impact - but it is also a unified community that shares a collective passion to protect the places we play for future generations to come."
- Jake Wheeler, RFOV Volunteer
"Think of what we could accomplish if every trail user between Independence Pass and Parachute would volunteer for one day, once a year."
