Quaker Ridge Camp was chartered in 1949 and is owned and operated by Rocky Mountain Yearly Meeting of Friends Churches.  Quaker Ridge Camp (QRC) is a unique, year-round venue for Christian ministry and is located on 600 acres in Pike National forest in the Rocky Mountains. QRC provides an amazing setting for Christian youth camps in the summer and Christian retreat groups throughout the rest of the year.

QRC operates as a limited access, Protestant, non-Charismatic summer youth camp and year-round retreat and conference center for all ages. We maintain our faith-based community as an exercise of our Christian beliefs and as an expression of those beliefs to the larger community. We subscribe that all of the activities at QRC should express our beliefs and be rendered as a service to Christ. Our charter states that the camp will encourage and promote youth activities connected with local churches whose doctrinal position is compatible with the doctrinal statement of Quaker Ridge Camp & Conference Center.

Mission

From RMYM: Building the Kingdom of God through Obedience to Christ. We accomplish our purpose through the ministries of local churches, missions, and Quaker Ridge Camp.

From Quaker Ridge Camp: Our primary goal at Quaker Ridge Camp & Conference Center is to provide a place of excellence in facilities and environment where the gospel of Jesus Christ may be clearly and plainly taught in order to lead the lost to salvation, as well as to refresh the soul and mature the faith of the Christian believer.

Background Statement

In 1957, Rocky Mountain Yearly Meeting (RMYM) was set apart by Nebraska Yearly Meeting as an independent yearly meeting of Friends churches servicing Arizonia, Colorado, and Nebraska. Today, the Rocky Mountain Yearly Meeting consists of 15 churches mainly centered in Colorado.

A 440-acre site was secured in 1949 near Woodland Park, Colorado and is known as Quaker Ridge Camp and Conference Center. This year round facility serves RMYM as well as many other groups for Christian camping and retreats.

In 1951, RMYM established a mission on the Navajo Reservation at Rough Rock, Arizona. For a time, a school for Navajo children was operated. Today there are four local meetings on the Reservation with Navajo leadership.

The people of Rocky Mountain Yearly Meeting gather each year to conduct the business of the Yearly Meeting and/or to share in meetings for worship, fellowship, encouragement, and inspiration. Rocky Mountain Yearly Meeting is a member in good standing of Evangelical Friends Church International/North America Region. Rocky Mountain Yearly Meeting is committed to an evangelical ministry. It has the goal of working toward a Friends Church worldwide in vision, evangelical in ministry, and unified in service.
