Serving The Yampa Valley
At RCEDP, we embrace innovative thinking and challenge the status quo. We are on a mission to drive positive change in our local economy, steering it towards long-term sustainability, all while maintaining a careful balance that protects the quality of life and economic well-being of our beloved home, the Yampa Valley.
Our innovative approach is straightforward: we focus on diversifying the mix of local primary industry and quality jobs. This involves nurturing entrepreneurship, supporting the retention and expansion of existing businesses, strategically targeting support to key industries, and engaging with relocating businesses.
RCEDP is the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to community-driven economic development in the Yampa Valley. We are guided by a passionate board of directors and benefit from the insights of our esteemed Economic Development Council. Our program portfolio includes the Yampa Valley Entrepreneurship Center, Business Retention & Expansion, Key Industries, and Business Relocation, among others, all designed to foster a sustainable future for our Yampa Valley community.
Our mission is to enhance the quality of life and economic well-being of Yampa Valley residents. We achieve this by fostering entrepreneurship and facilitating the retention, expansion, and relocation of primary businesses and quality jobs. Our efforts contribute to a sustainable and diverse economy, thereby ensuring a diverse and stable tax base for the funding of our community's shared goods and services (i.e. school districts, fire districts, conservation districts, housing authorities, library districts, and more).
RCEDP was established in the fall of 2021 through a collaborative, community-driven effort. Incorporated in December 2021 as a public-private partnership, RCEDP quickly gained momentum, forming its board of directors and adopting bylaws by April 2022. The organization received its 501(c)(3) non-profit status in September 2022. To further solidify its role in supporting economic development, RCEDP acquired the Yampa Valley Entrepreneurship Center (founded in 1999) from Colorado Mountain College in November 2022.
