Sometimes I'm asked, "Why free races?", and my answer is, "Why not?" When you pay $80 (or more) to run a race, you are paying for a t-shirt, a timing chip, maybe some live music, and other overhead whether you want all of those things or not. Personally, I have plenty of shirts from races I've run, I time myself even when I have a chip, and music doesn't really motivate me.
So...I don't organize races to make money. I organize races and training runs to share my passion for running with others, to encourage them to experience new running venues, to meet like-minded folks, and perhaps make some new running friends. Recently, we have started hosting free summer running camps for kids, and setting up middle school cross-country meets for local schools and other organizations.
Since we rely on donations, your financial support will help us continue to fulfill our mission and grow our outreach in Roxborough, metro Denver, and along the Front Range.
