Hello and welcome to our page! Â St. Bernadette Catholic Church is a hidden gem in the heart of Lakewood, Colorado. Â We are a church made up of many different communities. Â Within our very own campus, we have Hattie Pearls, a ministry to feed the homeless, a strong Deaf community, the St. Kateri Tekakwitha community, Marisol Homes rents one of our buildings as a home to women, several local sports teams rent our facilities, and we have Wellspring Catholic Academy of St. Bernadette, an elementary school from Pre-K - 8th grade. Â We are a place that opens our doors to anybody in need of a home rooted in Truth. Â Please prayerfully consider giving to us so we can continue our mission.Â
St. Bernadette Catholic Parish in the heart of Lakewood, Colorado, is an inclusive Christian Community committed to the teachings of Jesus Christ. We are strengthened by the Word of God and the Sacraments, guided by the Holy Spirit, and inspired by our Patronesses the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Bernadette Soubirous. We aspire to live our faith through the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy and follow our Lord's command to call all to discipleship.
St. Bernadette Parish was established on July 2, 1947 by Archbishop Urban J. Vehr as Lakewood's first Catholic church on 5 acres of land that was originally an oat field. Rev. John J. Doherty was selected as the founding pastor and remained until his retirement in 1982. St. Bernadette Catholic School was founded in 1953.
