Mission

Stepping Stones is a Jewish outreach organization whose mission is to welcome, support and educate interfaith couples, children and their families.

Background Statement

Stepping Stones was created after a demographic study conducted by the Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado in 1981 discovered that the unaffiliated and interfaith populations in Colorado were not being effectively served. A grant was written to design a program specifically for this population. Stepping Stones was created, becoming the first program in the country to specifically address the needs and interests of individuals in interfaith households. Since we opened our doors in 1985, we have expanded from a program serving just school-age children to an agency offering intergenerational programming.
