Stork Support of Northern Colorado is a growing nonprofit organization led by committed community members passionate about providing essential maternity, postpartum and newborn needs to under-resourced families from pregnancy and throughout the baby's first year. We collect gently-used maternity, nursing and baby clothes and gear from the abundance within our community, turn these donations into gift boxes and distribute support boxes to Northern Colorado families. Stork Support also collects donations of new items, such as needed essentials to prepare Postpartum Recovery Kits for parents who have recently given birth and formula to fed our community's babies. Stork Support has been serving Northern Colorado families since 2018 and continues because every new family is worthy of a strong start through support.
Stork Support of Northern Colorado is a community-based organization rooted in the belief that every new family is worthy of a strong start through support.
Lisa founded Stork Support of Northern Colorado's founder created the organization shortly after the birth of her first child when she found her family without an income unexpectedly. Lisa had support around her but it made her realize many others in our community don't. So she began to get in touch with mothers-to-be on Facebook groups and asking them what they were in need of in order to feel "ready" for the arrival of their child. As her own son was outgrowing diapers and clothes, she gifted these to the moms who needed them more than she did.
She started to collect these free items from others and delivered them to the families who were in need.
And so, Stork Support of Northern Colorado was created.
When Lisa and her family were planning on relocating to Germany, Nikola knew she could not let Stork Support close its doors. Instead, she took over operations and turned Stork Support into a 501(c)3.
