The Colorado Melanoma Foundation Doing Business As The Sun Bus is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The Sun Bus is a mobile dermatology clinic with a mission is to reduce the burden of skin diseases, including cancer, through effective screening, education, and research programs.
The Colorado Melanoma Foundation was established in July 2013 as an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
In May 2019, the foundation launched "The Sun Bus," a mobile dermatology clinic and classroom initiative. This innovative project was the result of collaboration among dedicated volunteers from dermatology research, clinical dermatology, public health, nursing, and law. The Sun Bus has since become a recognized force in the community, locally and nationally. Since its inception, The Sun Bus provided over 7,500 free screenings by volunteer dermatologists and healthcare professionals and more than 50,000 sunscreen samples were distributed to raise awareness and prevent skin cancers across our sunny state.
