Improving resources and support for girls and women living with Turner syndrome, a genetic disorder that requires life long health management and social support. Turner Syndrome Colorado brings families together to learn from each other and support each other in their rare disease journey.

Mission

Turner Syndrome Colorado's mission is to connect individuals and families in the Turner syndrome community and create and support local resources, including a Turner syndrome clinic program.

Background Statement

In 2010, a few families gathered at a park to meet and share our stories about living with Turner syndrome. At this meeting, there was an adult woman who was in her 40's who had never met another person with TS in her entire lifetime. There were also families with young daughters meeting for the very first time. It is because of the value of these connections, that the local family group was started. Originally founded as a Support Group-and later as a Chapter--under the Turner Syndrome Society of the United States (TSSUS), Turner Syndrome Colorado became an independent nonprofit organization in 2016. The Colorado community has shown incredible vision and leadership in building resources in Colorado with its support of the eXtraordinarY Kids Turner Syndrome Clinic. TS Colorado is also a leader in working for research on Turner syndrome, including providing funding for two international research symposiums and supporting the InsighTS Registry, a new registry to collect nationwide clinical data on patients with TS that is housed at the University of Colorado.
