Background Statement
Valley-Wide Health Systems, Inc. is a private, non-profit 501 (c)(3) federally funded Community/Migrant Health Center serving rural Colorado counties since 1976. Established by the Board of Directors (BOD or Board), the mission of the organization directs Valley-Wide's scope of service to provide safe, integrated, effective, high-quality, and comprehensive health care services to all with special consideration for medically underserved populations. This specifically includes those who are uninsured, underinsured, or who have limited or no access to primary health care services.
Within the rapidly changing landscape of healthcare legislation and technology, Valley-Wide has pioneered pathways to provide primary healthcare services in rural areas where providers are lacking and costs are prohibitive. As a safety-net provider, Valley-Wide provides direct patient care through 14 primary health care delivery sites, eight dental clinics (six of which are co-located with primary care), four physical therapy clinics, and numerous ancillary health services, as well as service provision to migrant and seasonal agriculture workers through a voucher program system; providing critical services across 15 counties in Colorado
Valley-Wide serves all populations, including all ages through a family practice focus approach. Emphasis is placed on assisting patients at each point of care and reducing barriers such as cost, culture, language, literacy, and transportation that may hinder use of appropriate health care services.
