Testimonials
"There are a few times when no amount of gratitude and appreciation could possibly fit the circumstances, and that is how I feel about the Veterans for Veterans of Archuleta County organization. On January 5, 2020 I was driving back home from Denver from my National Guard duty to Pagosa Springs through La Veta Pass when I was impacted by a large buck. As a result my truck was totaled and I had to undergo a complete repair of the right shoulder. Following the surgery, I was ordered by the surgeon to sleep in a recliner to ease the pain and allow for recovery. Veterans for Veterans contributed to help me and provided an electrical recliner as I could not operate a manual chair as all the non-electric recliners required i operate with my right hand, my injured shoulder.. The recliner helped me in easing agonizing pain and I slept in the chair for a month before I could graduate to my bed. Please accept my heartfelt gratitude to the Vets for Vets of Archuleta.County". "I have been associated with this organization both as a source and a board member. This group assists not only Archuleta County but surrounding areas, From a simple Veteran Stand-down in Durango,to assisting with rent, utility bills, and other financial assistance for veterans in Archuleta and LaPlata counties. It holds meetings weekly for the veteran population and asks for guest speakers such as congressional representatives, local health care professionals and others. Vets 4 Vets provides manpower to help with local meals and other community events requiring volunteers. The members are also involved with other veteran groups, such as the American Legion, DAV, VFW, and others. They provide drivers for medical transportation, outreach for community members and other community organizations" Raymond Taylor, Veterans Service Officer, Archuleta County
